The Ricmond Virgina Martial Art Suenaka-ha Aikido is a synthesis of Founder Morihei Ueshiba O'Sensei's Aikido and that of Shin-Shin Toitsu Aikido founder Koichi Tohei Sensei. It is a system of self-defense designed to be street- effective, while paying equal attention to spiritual, mental and moral/ethical development.

Suenaka-Ha Aikido is conveniently located in the Midlothian Area of Chesterfield County near the End of the Powhite Parkway and the Brandermilll housing area. We are also near the new Sport Quests facility being build on Genito. We are located inside of the US taekwondo College Building between the Waterford Grill and Jalapeno's Mexican Restaurant.

Come Visit

You are welcome to observe classes or better yet, join us on the mat to try several classes without obligation. Come meet some new people, get some exercise and experience Suenaka Style Aikido first-hand. Just “Show-Up” and bring a pair of loose fitting workout clothes. During your first workout with us, you will be introduced to body movement, mechanics and various principles of Aikido. You will work at an easy pace with our senior students in a beginner friendly environment.
